My laptop's power cable is fucked up. It's not all that safe to use anymore. I guess that's what more of my tax return will be used for. If I'm not online much, that's why.

It's heating up (smoking at times) and has melted through the rubber down near the brick part. And barely functioning as a power cable at all.

Now to shower and go buy some electrical tape to maybe repair my laptop's power cable enough to still use it.

The immediate worry of my laptop's power cable sparking and causing a fire is over, as it's wrapped in electrical tape now. Curiously, it's the cable itself that's overheating. It gets uncomfortably hot after maybe 5 minutes. A quick check at Wal-Mart showed that a replacement cable is gonna be $60 (I still need to check Circuit City & Best Buy to see if they have something cheaper).
