Queen Productions releasing Montreal '81 DVD
There's already a current DVD release of that gig, but not a Queen Productions release. Actually, there are a dozen different releases of that concert. Unless they have a multitrack to redo the mix, it's gonna be horrible. I have an audio rip of the current DVD, and it's too flat. The drums and bass are mixed way too low, and there isn't much audience to be heard. The concert itself is pretty much average. The crowd those nights didn't seem to really be into it (during Love of my Life, you can hear Freddie say, "They don't fucking know the words" (the song is usually a vocal duet between Freddie and the audience with Brian on an Ovation 12-string)).
I'd rather see a proper release of the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, Budapest '86, Hammersmith Odeon '79, Houston '77, Earl's Court '77, Hyde Park '76, or Hammersmith Odeon '75 get a release before Montreal '81. While I do have those shows on DVD (or an AVI file), complete releases of the FMTC, Budapest '86 and Hammy '79 would be nice (Hammy '75 has a rumoured complete video version, but that's only rumour and I have the most complete version easily available).
