Cheap MIDI controller

Any suggestions for a cheap MIDI controller? One for drum synths would be great. A keyboard style one would be fun, too. I've found some decent VSTs for bass guitar and such, but don't have a good way of controlling them.

I also found a VST for a guitar amp that sounds really great, but it has this weird delay between my playing it and it coming out of the speakers.
