Battling the DMV
Jul. 16th, 2004 04:40 pmI went to the DMV to get a new learner's permit because I never got my license and my old one expired 2 years ago. First off, I discovered that they had moved to newer, larger facilities. Now, the building was larger, but it had a mere 3 stations to handle people at. They only kept 2 open at any one time. Because of that, I spent 2 hours waiting. In order to combat the +3 Boredom, I paced and composed this entry in my head. After I had nearly succumbed to the +3 Boredom and the DMV Despair, my number was finally called. My transaction took all of 15 minutes. Most of that was from the test I had to take. I passed the test, got my new learner's permit, and left.
Side notes: When I arrived, this loser and his two sisters were there. They were all getting some sort of license. Well, they aren't exactly the brightest people. They filled out the application for a permit to carry handguns instead of the driver's license application. How anyone could confuse the two forms is beyond me. The one for a permit to carry a handgun is multi-page and has a large drawing of a handgun on the cover. The driver's license application is a single page form.
