This is a run-down of my classes after my first week at ETSU.
WWW Design: The class seems like it was designed for complete n00bs. It should get interesting in a few weeks, but, as it is right now, I could probably miss the next few weeks and not miss anything. The only useful thing I've gained from the class so far is my "Z" account, the password for it, and the server I'll be uploading my work to http://cscidbw.etsu.edu (to view my work,http://cscidbw.etsu.edu/zkdm20).
Crit. Reading/Expos. Writing: Initially, the professor seemed like he was going to be boring. Now, he seems a bit more laid back. Of course, my English teacher in high school worked us hard, so I may be used to a harder class.
Prob & Stats: Again, a class that I have experience in. As I recall, prob & stats is a required course. I would ask if I could go ahead and take the final, but I don't think I'm good enough to pass.
Public Speaking: The class has a laid back feel to it. Initially, the professor only had 6 recorded to take the class, but her listing was out of date. Before most of the students had arrived, she was talking to those of us that showed up early about having class over in the Culp Center from time to time. In the end, approximately 20 students ended up being in the class. The professor herself seems very experienced. She has a PhD. She's taught all over the country from the sounds of it. She's mentioned teaching at a college or two in Indiana, University of New Mexico, CalPoly (or however it's spelled), and somewhere in Florida.
Student in University: Initially, I thought it was just a BS class. On the first day, I learned that it is a writing-intensive course...and that it's going to force us to be social. The class is comprised entirely of computer science majors. We're geeks. We don't "do" social, unless it's at a convention.
Random stuff:
I think I might lose weight. I've been doing alot of walking.
I've been wearing my collar on campus. I find it kind of disappointing that no one's really payed any attention to it.
Parking is horrible over there. This morning, I had to park approximately 7 minutes of walking time from my one class today.
