It feels like Big Lots!
Oct. 3rd, 2004 01:26 amI woke up, piddled around online, and printed off a map to Bays Mountain Park. I told
bethtoney and
waiwaiwario I was going to gas up and then get them. I gassed up the car and realized that I had forgotten the map. I swung by my place on the way to grab
waiwaiwario. I then went and grabbed
bethtoney.
We made it to Bays Mountain Park with only one wrong turn. I learned that my car struggles to get to 70mph.
Once in the park, we walked past the raptor enclosures. We looked at the raptors for a moment and then headed to the wolves. I walked around a corner not expecting to see any wolves due to the cloudy weather. I was pleasantly surprised to see a wolf standing only a few feet from the fence. It was exciting. I just stared at it for a few minutes. We walked on around the enclosure and saw one of the other wolves there. It was asleep. We continued on around the enclosure looking for the other wolf, but never saw it. We walked past the deer enclosure and saw a tight grouping of 4 or 5 deer. After that, we wandered past the racoons. They were quite interested in seeing us, though, one little looked like he was stuck in an infinite loop. We left the racoons and walked around the bobcat enclosure. We didn't see any. We then proceeded to the herpetarium. We looked at some snakes in tanks.
bethtoney and I petted a snake. We left that and headed back around the bobcat enclosure. We finally saw one. We followed it for a few minutes. We went into the nature center and wandered about for a bit. I considered buying a wolf plush or two. The big one was $20 and not very soft, and the little one was $6 and not very cuddly. We left the nature center and went over to the otters. We watched them for a few minutes and then wandered down the path. The path took us over a little dam thing. We watched a piece of bread float along, hoping it would go over a little waterfall thing. It didn't. We walked back up to the nature center and almost went to a planetarium show. We then left the park.
We went back to Elizabethton and stopped at Hardee's.
bethtoney had a Western Bacon Thickburger, and I had a chocolate chip cookie dough milk shake. We then headed to the car show and wandered through some of the stores there. I found a store with cheap records...actual records on vinyl. I grabbed Queen The Game, Bon Jovi Slippery When Wet, Survivor Eye of the Tiger, and the Dirty Dancing soundtrack (for my grandmother) for $2 each! I also nabbed AC/DC Highway to Hell for $4! I'm going to have to head back there and pillage the record selection again.
We then went to this new store, Fred's. Right after I walked in, I said, "It feels like Big Lots!" It pretty much is Big Lots. We then headed to Wal-Mart. We did our usual walking around.
After Wal-Mart, we headed to Big Lots. We just walked around there, too. We went to leave Big Lots and saw a bottle in the parking lot. I made six attempts at hitting the bottle before crushing it. Before we left,
bethtoney and
waiwaiwario got out of the car and stomped the crap out of the bottle.
We then headed to Target, T.J. Maxx, and Books-A-Million. Nothing too interesting happened in the first two, except for finding a pink hat that looked like a pimp hat at T.J. Maxx. At Books-A-Million, We spent at least 1/2 an hour looking at gay sex books with pictures. We looked for lesbian sex books with pictures, but didn't find any. After leaving Books-A-Million, I gave a shopping cart a little push with my car. I stopped immediately after contact with the cart so I could watch it roll across the parking lot. It took a turn and headed straight for a car. I sped away at that point. The cart bumped into the car.
After that, we circled the Office Depot parking lot like 4 or 5 times and the mall parking lot once. We then tried for Toys "R" Us, but it was closed. We went searching for Super Wal-Mart, but I didn't know the way there from Toys "R" Us. We drove along a road for awhile and then turned back.
We went back to my place for a few minutes. I showed off my room. I then took
waiwaiwario and
bethtoney home.
