Feb. 18th, 2005 05:41 pmMy brother's system continues to be ass-tastic. I go to install XP, and it bitches about not being able to copy files. I installed XP on my machine off the same friggin' disc. I know it's good. The genius that built his system passworded the BIOS and set it up to not boot off the CD, so I had to erase the CMOS last night. That same genius also put the CD-ROM and HD on the same IDE cable, which I believe is the source of the file copying error. If the HD hadn't needed a format, I wouldn't be going through with all this fuss.
EDIT:
His CD-ROM drive seems to be messed up. I'll be pulling it tomorrow and swapping it with one of the 98 machine's drives to see if that fixes it.
