The scroll function on the side of the trackpad for my laptop used to not work in Firefox in Windows, so I just ignored that feature entirely while in WinXP. The other day, I installed the updated driver for my trackpad...and it started working in Firefox.

Now, if I could only get iPod-like scrolling on the thing like I have in Fedora Core...

I was chatting with [livejournal.com profile] frocta last night and Pounced.org's ineffectiveness came up. One of the biggest flaws I see with it is that you can only zero in as far as the state unless the user puts their city in the ad. I suggested to combine it with IFPL-like zip code entry and distance estimating. Frocta suggested combining it with Frapper. That led me to think of combining something like Pounced.org with Google Earth. That led me to think of an address book that uses Google Earth for an interface. Well, that'd only be cool for people with at least nation-spanning address books. Not much coolness if you're address book is limited to people close to you.
