It still isn't that bad. The worst part of today was the 15-20 minutes I spent gathering carts in the parking lot. It was about 90 degrees or so out there. Bleh. Also got shown how to clean the restrooms and get the trash. Since the official dress code for Food City is a dress shirt for guys, they don't give you any Food City logoed clothing unless you pay for it, so I've been wearing my dress shirt and my khaki cargoes. Towards the end of the night, an old lady asked if I was a manager. I guess the cell phone and iPod clipped to my belt helped me look a little more professional than most of the other employees.
Overall, I'm enjoying this far more than McDs. The work isn't as brutal, the pay is better, the coworkers aren't permanently stuck on "suck", and I'm not older than most of the employees. Everyone there is friendly with everyone. McDs had a very clique-ish feel to it.
