Bought myself some socks, an AC/DC For Those About to Rock long sleeve shirt, a Pink Floyd The Wall long sleeve shirt, a Simpsons Professional Air Guitarist long sleeve shirt, a bag of half-price Skittles, and Queen Rock Montreal.
As far as that last one goes, I'm kinda disappointed that Wal-Mart didn't have the 2 disc collector's edition, but I've got the main feature of that second disc already (Live Aid). The normal edition was only $9, so I'm not too unhappy. I'll toss up a decent review of it later/tomorrow when I've had time to just sit back and rock out to the whole concert.
First impression of the DVD:
Picture and sound quality are brilliant. I'd love to see the HD version and hear the surround sound. In terms of that technical quality, this is the best Queen DVD to date. This is probably because the show was originally shot in 35mm widescreen. Budapest '86 should look even better when it gets released 'cause Brian May will have some experience with dealing with film. The audio is mixed so much better than in the audio of the show I had downloaded a while back. Instruments aren't buried back in the mix. The only bad part is that the audio is a bit too crisp in my opinion. The audience isn't as prominent as in other official live releases, either.
The gig itself is only a little above average. The audience wasn't into it, so that hurt the band's performance. The version of Another One Bites the Dust from this show has now become my favorite live version of the song, which is saying quite a bit since I've got 1-2 dozen versions of that song!
Overall, if you can't find Queen on Fire, get this DVD. On technical quality, it blows Queen on Fire out of the water, and, in terms of performance quality, the gig is more of a rock gig than Wembley '86.
