I've managed to score a laptop for $20. My brother found it on the side of the road, and I talked him into giving it to me for $20. I had to tear it apart and reconnect the screen, but it's working fine so far. It's a PIII of some sort with 256MB RAM. It's enough to drag around for internetting/photo dumping. I don't know about the soundcard, but it might even do for a mobile recording thing.
