Produce get?
Jun. 7th, 2008 02:55 amThe coworker I was going to be competing with for that produce position quit tonight. If they can't convince him to not quit tomorrow, I suspect they'll be calling me asking me to cover his shift tomorrow since he's supposed to be the closing bagger. I might "forget" to turn my phone on and spend most of tomorrow away from home just so I don't have to directly tell them that I don't want to come in.
I'm hoping my schedule for next week is a fairly typical one for my run in produce. 1100-2000 four days a week. That's 32 hours (probably a little more 'cause I'm always clocking in early and out late), and I'm hoping for a raise 'cause I'm still basically at the bottom of the lowest pay grade in the store, so I might start regularly hitting $200/week in pay, which will kick much ass. At the least, this new position shouldn't be near as boring as bagging. I've grown to despise my 1500-close bagging shifts. They're nothing but boredom until I get back from my meal break and can spend the rest of my shift just cleaning.
