The Whole Cosmos Is Rockin'...
Sep. 1st, 2008 01:06 amSeptember will be seeing the Queen+Paul Rodgers "The Cosmos Rocks" hit the shelves and airwaves, with the North American launch following in October, and, then a few days after that, AC/DC will release "Black Ice", which is their first album since "Stiff Upper Lip".
From what I've heard of both albums, they're gonna be good. From TCR, I've heard Say It's Not True, War Boys, C-lebrity, part of Time to Shine, and an incredibly brief bit of Cosmos Rockin'. From BI, I've only heard one track, Rock 'n' Roll Train, but it sounds almost like it'd fit somewhere between Highway to Hell (album) and Back in Black (album).
Also, in September, AC/DC's "No Bull" (Madrid '96) will be getting a re-release as a director's cut. I've seen the original release, but I'm gonna hold off on commenting because the audio in the original release was mixed horribly with vocals being buried below the instruments.
I'm not exactly happy with No Bull getting a re-release, though. I'd rather see their Paris '79 show getting a DVD release than getting a re-release of a concert already available on DVD. I have the CD release of that '79 show, and it's really good. The VHS release of it replaces some of the concert footage with footage of one of the boys driving around on a Paris airfield and totally cuts out some songs. Plug Me In and Family Jewels were nice glimpses into the Bon Scott era, but a full show from the Highway to Hell tour would be amazing.
