DIY Props?
Nov. 9th, 2009 02:49 amIn a moment of curiousity, I looked up instructions on building your own lightsaber prop. I may end up attempting to build one, even if I don't ever end up cosplaying with it.
Given my recent interest in Doctor Who and a desire for a sonic screwdriver, I may attempt a DIY sonic screwdriver first. I think I have most of the plans figured out in my head. I just need to sketch out the plans and then buy the parts. Failing that, I'm just gonna order the cool UV sonic screwdriver that comes with psychic paper.
It'd be cool to mod my RotJ blaster to include a laser pointer that goes off when you pull the trigger, but I really don't want to damage the toy. It's the only toy gun I've ever had that actually had some decent weight on it and was fun to just hold.
Come to think of it, the Pyro's flamethrower in TF2 shouldn't be that hard a build. That'd be a fun one to pull on the spies that have been infiltrating cons.
