I believe my potential Anthrocon plans have officially been axed. Getting that weekend off at work seems like it will be impossible (Sue is going on vacation that weekend, and Michael will probably still be out on paternity leave or whatever it's called 'cause of his baby). Looks like I'll have to start looking into other cons, namely Mephit Furmeet, FurFright, and Midwest Furfest. Anyone want me to show up at any of those?
Wal-Mart finally got another shipment of Star Trek toys. I gleefully checked the Hot Wheels selection to see if they had the proper packaging for the error NCC-1701 refit. They did! Sweet, I'll have one in the proper packaging to put with the wrong one. Flip it around and look at the packaging on the back...error again! The blurb about the ship is identical to the one on the incorrect packaging, which is totally wrong. The way the blurb reads, the ship replaced itself after it was destroyed in the Mutara sector (end of Star Trek III), which was correct for the NCC-1701-A, but not the refit of the first one.
