Last night, I stopped myself before I could go into a rant about the current state of youth and car modding.
I think I'll make that rant now.
What's the point of buying a car that costs anywhere between #13,000 and $21,000 (a quick google of Honda +Price brought that up) and then spending another $20,000 on
rodding modding it? Why not save up the cash and buy an actual sports car? Corvettes start out at $44,000. Yes, that makes it more expensive than going the Honda route...but it actually looks good. I've heard some talk about how their car is hot with these relatively low horsepower engines. Hmm...maybe I'm living in a past I wasn't around to experience, but a 350hp V8 big block sounds alot more impressive than some dinky little Honda with what, a 150hp engine in it. I suppose one could mount a turbocharger/supercharger (I always get those two confused) in the Honda...but it just doesn't have that badass look. Here's a photo comparison of a
Civic and a
1969 Chevy Camaro. Which would you rather be seen in?
Cosmetic modding of cars. Done tastefully, I think they do enhance the look of certain cars. Adding lights where there previously weren't lights is pointless. Spoilers look good on some cars. They're quite unnecessary unless you're racing the car. I'll probably end up modding the look of whatever car I get, but I'll do it mainly through the use of decals and a decorative front plate. I might even buy the paint and stuff and let
bethtoney airbrush something on it. Rims...I hate it when people ask, "Got rims on your car?" I want to slap them and say, "Listen up, ya retard. Any car with wheels has fucking rims. What you're talking about are decorative fucking rims!" I'm quite tempted to go find a rim and carry it in my trunk just to prove my point. What's the point in putting larger/smaller wheels on a car? I can understand putting larger wheels on a truck/SUV...if you actually go off-road in the thing. I have actually seen a truck with wheels so small that the thing had to go very slowly over speed bumps.
