Went to Wal-Mart after class to pick up a few last minute things for FWA. Didn't have a chance to stop by an ATM on the way there, so i was gonna just pay with what cash I had on me and put the rest on the credit card...except it came up declined. I was all "WTF?" I get what I can afford with the cash on hand and head on home. I check my account online, but it doesn't mention anything weird about my account (save for an unauthorized transaction and subsequent refund of said transaction). I call Chase and find out the account has been frozen because of several charges they thought were weird. They tell me about them, and I tell them they are, in fact, fraudulent charges. At that point, they say my only options are to close the account and open a new one or keep the current account and pay for the fraudulent charges. Given that it was nearly $800 in stuff I didn't pay for, I just closed it and got a new one.
Luckily, my grandma has let me borrow hers for the con, so it should all be good.
I'm also pissed at Chase. They said they tried to call me about the charges sooner, but they never called the house. That was the number they had, and someone is here 24/7, so it's not like we missed it.
